A Real Local Yard, Not a Faceless National
B&A Firewood is a family-run firewood and log supplier based in Haslington, Cheshire. We cut, split and dry all our timber on-site at our yard, and deliver to homes across south Cheshire and into north Staffordshire.
We're not a middleman shifting pallets from who-knows-where. When you order from us, you're buying logs that were stacked in our barn, dried in our kiln, and loaded onto our van by people you can actually come and meet.
The Family Behind the Logs
We're a local family who've been working with timber in Cheshire for years. What started as keeping our own log burner going through winter has grown into a proper yard supplying the surrounding towns. We know our customers by name — and quite a few of them know the dog.
Where Our Timber Comes From
Our timber comes from British woodland — mostly local Cheshire and Staffordshire estates where trees are felled as part of proper woodland management. We don't import cheap foreign logs that have been shipped halfway round the world.
The mix is mostly ash, oak, birch and beech — all hardwoods that burn hot and long. We also stock softwood for kindling and quick fires.
How We Dry Our Logs
Kiln-Dried
Dried in our kiln for a consistent, efficient burn. Splits clean and lights easily.
Barn-Dried
Dried in our barn for 18 months — slow, natural drying that gives a great burn.
Properly Seasoned
Stacked and left to season in the open air. Honest, straightforward dry logs.
Sustainability
We only use British timber from managed woodlands where felling is part of a proper cycle — trees are replanted, and the woodland is kept healthy. Burning wood from managed sources is a low-carbon way to heat your home, especially compared to fossil fuels.
We also try to minimise waste — offcuts and sawdust go to our smokeless fuel briquettes and firelighters, not to landfill.
